Let There Be Darkness

August 21st will be a day for many in the United States to see a total eclipse of the sun. Ancient superstition imagined all kinds of disasters that were about to happen when a solar eclipse would occur. Today, of course, most of us know that this is a natural phenomenon that occurs periodically when the moon passes between the earth and the sun. In our Christian walk, many things try to pass between us and the Light that is Jesus. Our pride, sin, selfishness, job, hobbies and a host of other earthly things interfere with our ability to clearly see the Light that changes us. As you observe the solar eclipse this Monday, ask yourself about the things that come between you and Jesus. Then, ask Him to help you remove those things so His light will shine brightly in your life.
